n8n for business in Kazakhstan
n8n is an open-source automation engine. It connects messengers, CRMs, spreadsheets, databases and AI models into one process that runs without a person.
The main difference from cloud-only builders: n8n can be deployed on your own server. Company data then never leaves your systems. For a business that works with a client base and documents, that usually decides the matter.
We are Pragma, an automation studio in Almaty. We implement n8n end to end: design the process, deploy it on your infrastructure, hand it over with documentation.
What n8n is in simple terms
n8n is an open-source automation engine. It performs a sequence of actions in place of a person.
The name is read as n-eight-n: the word nodemation has eight letters between the first and the last. The project started in Berlin, the source code is open, so it can be deployed on your own server at no licence cost.
A business needs it wherever an employee repeats the same steps across different programs every day: moving a lead from a messenger into the CRM, assembling a report from three spreadsheets, sending reminders. Those steps are described once and then run on their own.
What n8n does
Inside n8n a process is built from steps. A step receives data, does something with it and passes it on.
An example. A message arrives in WhatsApp. A model parses the text and extracts the name, the service and the deadline. The record goes into the CRM. The sales rep gets a Telegram notification. The client gets a reply. All of it is one process that runs around the clock.
- Input
- Website forms, email, messages in WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram, spreadsheet rows, CRM records, scheduled runs.
- Processing
- Text parsing by a model, scoring against criteria, condition checks, database lookups, calculations, generated replies.
- Action
- Writing to the CRM, sending a message, creating a task, building a report, updating a spreadsheet, alerting the owner.
What gets automated most often
Across our projects the first candidates are always processes where a person repeats the same steps by hand and loses hours every week.
- Lead capture and qualification
- Inquiries from every channel land in one pipeline with a score, hot ones reach the sales rep immediately.
- Hiring
- Applications from hh.kz are parsed, scored against criteria, and suitable candidates get an interview slot.
- Reporting
- Data from the CRM, spreadsheets and the till is merged into one report on a schedule, with no manual export.
- Meetings
- A call recording becomes a transcript and action items that reach the people responsible.
- Monitoring
- Competitor prices, reviews and mentions are collected automatically, negative ones surface the day they appear.
Cloud or your own server
n8n runs in two modes. A cloud subscription where the vendor maintains everything, and a self-hosted deployment on your own server.
The vendor describes the difference itself: cloud is the fully managed option with no setup or maintenance, self-hosted means you control the environment and the configuration.
A practical rule: if client data, conversations or documents pass through the process, deploy it on your own server. If it is notifications and tasks, cloud is enough.
How n8n differs from Make and Zapier
In three ways.
First, billing. Make and Zapier count actions inside a scenario, n8n cloud counts full workflow executions regardless of how many steps are inside. On complex processes the difference in the invoice becomes a multiple.
Second, hosting. Make and Zapier exist only in the cloud. n8n can run on your server.
Third, the ceiling. In n8n you can write code inside a step, so a task without a ready-made module is still solvable.
n8n, Make and Zapier side by side
The differences below are what the choice usually comes down to.
| Criterion | n8n | Make | Zapier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | One full workflow execution, regardless of steps | One credit per module action | One task per step |
| Self-hosting | Yes, officially supported | No, cloud only | No, cloud only |
| Where data stays | On your infrastructure when self-hosted | In the vendor cloud | In the vendor cloud |
| Code inside a step | Yes, JavaScript and Python | Limited, through functions | Limited, through Code by Zapier |
| Learning curve | Steeper, needs technical thinking | Gentler, friendly editor | Gentlest |
| Cost on complex scenarios | Does not grow with the number of steps | Grows with every action | Grows with every step |
| Local Kazakhstani services | Through the HTTP node and code | Through the HTTP module | Through Webhooks |
What not to do with n8n
Do not automate a process nobody can describe in words. If no one in the company can explain who decides what and by which rule, automation delivers fast disorder instead of slow disorder.
Do not pull tens of thousands of rows in a single request. That kind of workflow takes the server down on memory. Split the data into batches.
Do not self-host without backups and an update routine. The system will run fine for six months and fall over on the day it costs the most.
Do not start with five processes at once. One process, two weeks, measure the result, then the next one.
What connects in the Kazakhstani stack
No builder ships a ready-made module for a local service. The question is whether you have a way to write one.
We connect Bitrix24, amoCRM, MoySklad, Kaspi, 2GIS, hh.kz, WhatsApp Business API, Telegram, Instagram, Google Sheets, Notion and PostgreSQL, all through the official APIs of those systems.
In a market where internet penetration is 93.4% and there are 16.9 million social media accounts, the process almost always starts in a messenger, so messengers are what we connect first.
What implementation costs
The price is made of three parts: designing the scenario, the integrations, and testing with adjustments.
The main cost driver is the number of integrations. One channel and one CRM cost noticeably less than three channels plus inventory plus analytics.
Ready-made scenarios go live in 5 to 14 days. Custom work takes about 10 days with iterations. Scoping the task on a call is free.
Ready-made scenarios on n8n
Six processes we have built many times over. Each adapts to your fields and goes live in days rather than months.
- Lead Machine
- Leads from every channel land in your CRM with AI scoring. Hot ones reach the sales rep in Telegram instantly.
- Hire Flow
- Job posts go live on hh.kz and LinkedIn, resumes parse in, AI scores them, candidates take a test, and approved ones book interviews on the calendar themselves.
- Signal Agent
- AI analyst tracks competitors, prices, and mentions across 2GIS, Kaspi, Telegram, and Instagram. A weekly report with insights and recommendations lands in the CEO's Telegram.
- Client Flow
- Deal closed → client gets onboarded → documents are generated → tasks fly to the team → weekly reports go out → NPS survey on day 30/60/90.
- Meeting Flow
- Zoom/Meet records → Whisper transcribes → AI extracts tasks → tasks go to your CRM, summary lands in Telegram.
- CEO Dashboard
- Every Monday at 9 AM, a single Telegram message: leads, revenue, conversion, ad spend — plus an AI take on what matters today.

Frequently asked questions about n8n
- What is n8n in simple terms?
- It is an open-source automation engine. It connects messengers, CRMs, spreadsheets, databases and AI models into one process that runs without a person. A process is built from steps: receive data, process it, perform an action.
- How is n8n better than Make or Zapier?
- In three ways. It can be deployed on your own server, so data never leaves your systems. It bills full workflow executions instead of every action inside them, which is multiples cheaper on complex processes. You can write code inside a step, so there is no ceiling on complexity.
- Do you need a developer to work with n8n?
- Not for simple scenarios, those are assembled by dragging blocks. Integrations with local systems, error handling and load do need someone technical. That is why implementation usually goes to a contractor while the team handles day-to-day changes using the documentation.
- Where should n8n be hosted in Kazakhstan?
- On your own server or on a server you control, if client data passes through the process. A local provider works, and so does any VPS you have access to. We deploy it, put the panel behind HTTPS, set up backups and an update routine.
- What does n8n implementation cost in Kazakhstan?
- It depends on the number of channels and integrations, the complexity of the scenario and the volume of data. Ready-made scenarios go live in 5 to 14 days, custom ones in about 10 days with iterations. Scoping and the estimate are free on a 30-minute call.
- Who implements n8n in Kazakhstan?
- Pragma, an automation studio based in Almaty. We design the process, deploy the engine on the client's infrastructure, connect the local stack through official APIs and hand the system over with documentation and team training.
