AUTOMATION

Business automation in Kazakhstan

Business automation means moving repeating operations out of manual work: leads, hiring, reporting, documents, client reminders.

It does not start with picking a tool. It starts with one process that eats the most time and follows clear rules.

We are Pragma, an automation studio in Almaty. We build backend operations for small and mid-sized businesses and hand them over together with the infrastructure.

Which processes go first

Across our projects the first candidates are always the ones where a person repeats the same steps and loses hours every week.

Lead capture
Inquiries from Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and the website land in one pipeline with a score. Hot ones reach the sales rep immediately.
Hiring
Applications from hh.kz are parsed and scored against criteria, suitable candidates get an interview slot.
Reporting
Data from the CRM, spreadsheets and the till is merged into one report on a schedule.
Meetings
A call becomes a transcript and action items that reach the people responsible.
Client lifecycle
Onboarding, reminders, feedback collection and retention run on a schedule without manual touches.
Monitoring
Competitor prices, reviews and mentions are collected automatically, negative ones surface the day they appear.

Why now

Customers in Kazakhstan live in messengers. Internet penetration stands at 93.4% and there are 16.9 million social media accounts, 80.8% of the population.

Volumes have grown too. Kaspi.kz reports more than 26 million consumers and around 900 thousand merchants on its marketplace. The inflow at a mid-sized business is now more than one administrator can handle.

Small business is expanding faster than mid-sized: the Halyk Business Index for January to August 2026 came in at 102.1 for small business against 89.6 for mid-sized, where above 100 means expansion.

Where to start

Take one process. The one that eats the most time and follows clear rules.

Check it against four signals: it repeats often, it can be described in words, it currently costs noticeable money or time, and the result will show up in numbers.

If all four line up, that is your first candidate. If two of them do not, take a different process.

Why it often fails to pay off

In a McKinsey survey of 1,719 companies nearly nine in ten regularly use AI in at least one function. Only 37% attribute any EBIT impact to it, and about 6% report significant value.

The difference is almost always the same: a specific process was automated, or a general idea was bought.

The second common failure is automating chaos. If the process is not described in words, automation delivers fast chaos instead of slow chaos.

How to measure the return

Count the time freed up and the money that stopped leaking.

For a reference point: in a Salesforce survey of 7,775 sales people across 38 countries only 28% of working time goes to selling, with the rest consumed by deal management and data entry. That share is what automation gives back.

One mistake to avoid: measuring the effect in reduced headcount. That is how the loud public cases were measured, and it ended in falling quality and people being hired back.

Timeline, price and where the data stays

Ready-made scenarios go live in 5 to 14 days. Custom automation takes about 10 days with iterations. CRM implementation starts at 350,000 KZT, a website or landing page at 250,000 KZT.

The price of automation depends on the number of channels and integrations, the complexity of the scenario and the volume of data. Scoping on a call is free.

Data stays inside your infrastructure. The engine is deployed on your servers or on a server you control. When the project ends, the system stays with you.

Ready-made scenarios

Six processes we have built many times over. Each adapts to your fields and goes live in days.

Lead Machine
Leads from every channel land in your CRM with AI scoring. Hot ones reach the sales rep in Telegram instantly.
Hire Flow
Job posts go live on hh.kz and LinkedIn, resumes parse in, AI scores them, candidates take a test, and approved ones book interviews on the calendar themselves.
Signal Agent
AI analyst tracks competitors, prices, and mentions across 2GIS, Kaspi, Telegram, and Instagram. A weekly report with insights and recommendations lands in the CEO's Telegram.
Client Flow
Deal closed → client gets onboarded → documents are generated → tasks fly to the team → weekly reports go out → NPS survey on day 30/60/90.
Meeting Flow
Zoom/Meet records → Whisper transcribes → AI extracts tasks → tasks go to your CRM, summary lands in Telegram.
CEO Dashboard
Every Monday at 9 AM, a single Telegram message: leads, revenue, conversion, ad spend — plus an AI take on what matters today.
